Jordin Sparks gets glamorized in this first look pic at Sparkle, via People mag.

The 21-year-old actress told the mag about Whitney Houston playing her mom, “She was so cool and very motherly toward me. If I ever looked like I needed something, here she came saying ‘Are you okay?’”

A remake of the 1976 film, Sparkle follows the three Williams sisters, who begin singing in their church choir in Harlem in the late 1950s and go on to become a successful girl group.

Sparkle is expected to debut on August 1st.
