OlderAshley Benson Joins 'Spring Breakers'
Ashley Benson is going on spring break with Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez.
Deadline reports that the 22-year-old Pretty Little Liars actress has booked a role in the flick from Harmony Korine.
Set to start filming on February 12th in Florida, Spring Breakers follows four gorgeous college-age girls rob a fast food restaurant in order to afford a spring break trip to Florida. When they’re arrested, they meet up with a drug and arms dealer (James Franco) who entices them to kill his arch rival.
Emma Roberts dropped out of the film earlier this month.

I guess they won’t need Vanessa early on in filming. She’s supposed to be in France to premiere journey on the 12th. I guess shell go from that to straight to this, very busy girl. And no offense I hope it is a great movie and it’s a breakout role for all these girls but I hope Vanessa has more of a break out role later this year with gimmie shelter or maybe frozen ground.
I’m excited about James Franco. I hope he’s her love interest or they have a significant part together.

Ashley Benson is a horrible casting choice. They must be really desperate. I watch PLL and she is so wooden and emotionless in her scenes. I wonder if any of these Disney tweenyboppers are familiar with Harmony Korine’s work. He doesn’t do “good ol fun for the family” flicks. I have a feeling a lot more of them will be dropping out when they find out they have to show their T&A and do some girl-on-girl action. If this movie starred Roberts, Dakota Fanning, Taylor Momsen, Evan Rachael Wood or some names like that I might take it seriously but with this cast the whole thing seems like a joke.
