Jordin Sparks: 'Very, Very Blessed' to Know Whitney Houston

Jordin Sparks dazzles on the red carpet as she arrives at the 2012 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday (February 23) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 22-year-old singer/actress spoke with Access Hollywood about her tribute to her late costar Whitney Houston before the event.

“I don’t know how I’m gonna do in there. We’ll see…We’ll see what happens. If I choke up…I’ll get it together. Have to try and keep it in,” Jordin shared of her performance of “Look Into Your Heart,” from their upcoming movie, Sparkle.

Jordin added, “She was an incredible woman and I was very, very blessed to get to know her for the short time that I did, but she was incredible. It gives me a lot of excitement to be able to put this movie out because it was her baby, and she was so, so into it and so happy to be doing it.”

Sparkle opens August 17th.
