Mason Cook Joins 'The Lone Ranger'

Mason Cook hits the red carpet at the premiere of John Carter held at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live on late last month in Los Angeles.

The 11-year-old actor, who you might remember from Spy Kids: All the Time in the World, just booked the role of Will in Disney’s upcoming The Lone Ranger!

“There are no words to describe my reaction when I found out I booked the role of Will in The Lone Ranger and would be working with Johnny Depp,” Mason shares in a statement.

He added, “When I was doing press for Spy Kids: All the Time in the World last summer I told every reporter that my #1 acting role model and idol is Johnny Depp. And the movie is directed by Oscar winner Gore Verbinski who directed my favorite Pirates of the Caribbean movies! This is definitely the highlight of my career so far.”

Mason just recently wrapped The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, with Steve Carell, Jim Carrey, and Olivia Wilde. The film is set in the world of rival Las Vegas magicians in which one member of a successful two-man team dies in a stunt. The surviving member must then find a way to rediscover his love for magic.

Congrats, Mason!
