Emma Stone on Jennifer Lawrence: 'She Gave Me Courage To Play Gwen Stacy'
Jennifer Lawrence keeps it cool on Sunday afternoon (June 10) in Santa Monica, Calif.
The 21-year-old actress picked up some goodies from her local Whole Foods market and Williams Sonoma.
Emma Stone recently chatted with Access Hollywood about taking on the role of Gwen Stacy and looked to an unlikely source for courage to take on the part.
“I love Jennifer Lawrence and I watched a lot of her interviews for Hunger Games — it was kind of the same thing she was feeling,” Emma shared. “What scared me was the idea of, ‘What could happen to my life after doing something like this?’ But the part and the process outweighed that fear.”
She added, “It felt like a stupid reason to not be part of this — what might happen [and] how [my] life could change didn’t feel like enough of a reason to not play Gwen, not to get to be involved with this and not to get to act with Andrew [Garfield] or to get to tell the story in a different way.”

Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence are my favorite ladies in Hollywood. They’re as real as they come.
That’s really awesome :)
There’s a huge difference between the two situations, Emma. Jennifer is the MAIN star of an entire franchise while you just play the girlfriend of the MAIN star of a franchise. You can compare yourself to Jennifer Lawrence the day you have an oscar nom and you have to carry a franchise of films until then don’t.
