Andrew Garfield: Spider Delivery!
Andrew Garfield gets into a pic with fans after delivering a Chilean Rose Tarantula to the American Museum of Natural History on Wednesday morning (June 27) in New York City.
The 28-year-old actor was joined by Curator, AMNH, Division of Invertebrate Zoology, Norman Platnick, and Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb to talk about the spider, which is one of the most common species of tarantula available in pet stores today.
Recently chatting with THR, Andrew talked about donning the infamous suit.
“That suit has always been a symbol of something for me,” Andrew shared. “Whenever I think about that suit, it makes me feel protected and warm and safe, like I’m free. It’s always been that way since I was three years old. And that relates to the ‘orphan feeling’ of feeling unprotected and unsafe. So putting on the suit, having any affiliation with the suit, is an honor. Because it’s such a symbol of wonderful hope and goodness.”
