Is Nick Jonas the newest American Idol judge?
The 19-year-old musician is “pretty close to signing to be the Idol judge. They flew him in to L.A. last week for final meetings,” an insider told US Weekly.

According to another source, “[American Idol producers] think he can help bring that younger demo to the show.”
Mariah Carey already signed on the dotted line, leaving two open spots at the judging table. Randy Jackson is apparently being moved to a mentor position.

Have the producers of American Idol lost their mind? A 19 yrs old kid as a judge. Well guess I won’t be watching this show it’s lost it’s credibility if it’s true. So sad.

He started doing broadway at 7 years old. I think he has been in the business long enough. And yes he’s young but he’s a really mature man.

he’s a very sharp guy, so it doesn’t worry me at all that he’s as young as he is. i think he would be a great judge. he’s not gonna be that judge that’s super exciting to watch or funny or vivacious. but hey, he’d have better comments than useless and pervy Steven Tyler
He’s a really good musician … and after all american idol is just karaoke so he’s more than qualified.

eww god no. then im diffently not gonna watch it. wat the hell does he know about the music business he was just a disney kid. he was on hollywood records with his brothers for the longest time then he got a solo. yes i no he started solo but it didnt do **** so then he asked his brothers to join. american idol needs a judge who understands the music business. doesnt matter anyway american idols fake they send home people who can actully stay and they let people stay who can’t.

what does he know about music? he and his brothers have had millions of albums sold, sold out work tours, a tv show, and a movie. Plus, both joe and nick did well on their solo albums and nick was amazing on “how to succeed in business without really trying”. He has good music and business skills and i think this will be good for both him and american idol. (:
Nick is the most well rounded person I know. He is a musical genius. Very intelligent and insightful. He has a tremedous musical background as a singer/songwriter and he plays several instruments. For those questioning his resume…..he has sold 20 million plus albums with his brothers (which includes many songs that he wrote), had a successful CD and Tour with the Administration, produced for many other artists, has been in probably about 10 Broadway Shows, starred for 2 years in a TV show with his brothers, guest starred on SMASH, guest starred on last man standing and he is an amazing spokesman for Diabetes. THAT IS A LOT FOR ANYBODY. Many of the people that have held judging positions have not done a fraction of what he has done. All of that vast experience leaves this extraordinarily talented man poised to provide keen insight and advice. HE WOULD BE AN EXTRAORDINARY CHOICE!!!
