Lauren Conrad takes to the skies as she arrives at LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon (July 29).
The 26-year-old author/designer was just announced as the hostess for the 2012 Designs for the Cure Gala happening later this year.
The “pink-tie” gala brings together the world of fashion, celebrities and cancer survivors for an evening of live entertainment, dinner and a fabulous silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind items and experiences. This gala will raise funds to impact women who are battling breast cancer in Los Angeles County as well as providing desperately needed funding for research, mammograms and other diagnostic and treatment services.
“Breast cancer is such a serious issue, especially facing young women in the Los Angeles area, and it is a cause dear to my heart,” Lauren shared in a statement. “I am honored to be a part of this event and am thrilled to partner with such a wonderful foundation like Susan G. Komen.”
She added on her website, “I am also excited to announce that Paper Crown will be sponsoring the gala. The event will be a “pink-tie” affair and I will be working with a group of survivors to get them dressed and feeling beautiful for the big night.”
