Missy Franklin Sets World Record at 2012 Olympics

Missy Franklin gets a big hug from teammate Elizabeth Beisel as they celebrate their gold and bronze medals at the Women’s 200m Backstroke Final on Day 7 of the London 2012 Olympic Games held at the Aquatics Centre on Friday (August 3) in London.

The 17-year-old Olympian added another gold medal to her stack and set a new world record at the event, timing 2:04.06, besting three-quarters of a second off Kirsty Coventry‘s previous world record.

Congrats Missy!

Only one more event to go — the medley relay tomorrow!
