Fans of The Hunger Games, you need to pick up Veronica Roth‘s “Divergent” sooner rather than later.
The Playlist is reporting that a director — Neil Burger — is in talks for the film adaption.
The first book in a trilogy, “Divergent” follows sixteen year-old Beatrice or ‘Tris’, who lives in a dystopian future which used to be Chicago where society is divided into five factions based on virtue: Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent).
Forced to choose which one she’ll live in for the rest of her life — a decision that pulls her between being with her family and staying true to who she is — Beatrice makes a decision that surprises everyone, and leads to an adventure and romance.
The second book “Insurgent” is out on shelves too. The third is coming in 2013.
HAVE YOU READ “Divergent”? What did you think of it?
