Derek Hough twirls Shawn Johnson around during a promo shoot for Dancing With the Stars: All Stars.

“I actually got the call [from the show] they day I retired from gymnastics,” the 20-year-old former Olympian shared.

Shawn continued, “It was kind of a big day for me. I didn’t know what to say…I think I screamed. I was really excited. It was hitting a low and then they called and asked, ‘Do you want to do it again?’ I thought it would be a fun transition and good distraction from everything going on.”
