AJ Michalka gets behind the camera on the set of her latest film, Grace Unplugged, in this new pic from Instagram.

The 20-year-old actress plays the title character in the faith-based movie.

Grace Unplugged summary: 18-year-old Christian singer/songwriter Grace Trey (Michalka) is beautiful, highly talented and restless and so far undiscovered outside church. She performs there each Sunday with her gifted father Johnny, the praise music director. A former rock star, Johnny Trey charted a Billboard top five single twenty years earlier. Then, the hits stopped coming and he crash landed, a one hit wonder. Johnny found Christ and a new life for his family, far from the Hollywood Hills.

One day without warning, Grace leaves for Los Angeles. With the help of Johnny’s former manager, Bob Mossy, she lands a record deal. Mossy sees in Grace a potential pop superstar and massive pay check. Grace seems prepared to walk away from her Christian faith and music to achieve her long-suppressed fantasy of Hollywood stardom. Will she reject her faith, or rediscover it?
