OlderZac Efron: 'I Don't Necessarily Like Me Yet'
Zac Efron gets really close to a kinkajou in this new shot from Blackbook mag.
The 24-year-old actor covers the new Party Issue and chatted with the glossy about The Paperboy, At Any Price and moving on from just being the actor young girls go to see.
“As a man watching Zac Efron, I don’t necessarily like me yet. So how can I like Zac Efron?” he asked.
He continued, “Maybe, if that guy shook things up, did what I didn’t expect him to do, if he wasn’t afraid to be a d—, if he wasn’t afraid to fall on his face, if he hung around long enough and did the grunt work, one day I might respect him.”
Zac is also pictured catching a flight at Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Canada on Saturday (September 15).

@jamie: He could slow down with it, if people would finally stop with the stupid association of him with HSM and Troy Bolton. He’s so fed up with that. He doesn’t even want to hear it anymore. But unfortunately he has the bad luck that he can’t say a word about it. He has to swallow it no matter how much he dislikes the 24/7 association.
He repeates himself like a broken record and tells again and again that he is just Zac and wants to be known as Zac, but no, people bring constantly up the old stuff like HSM and Troy Bolton. <- was nothing but a character he played in movie and has absolutely nothing to do with him.
Nothing will change until people finally stop to live in past and at least move on to the present when the future is too much.
He will look for and take more risky and dark roles until his image of everybody's darling Troy Bolton is dead.
Daniel Radcliffe does the same, he doesn't want to hear the word Harry Potter anymore. I remember when he said, he could explode in the truest sense of the word when people call Harry Potter in the streets, a lot of them don't even know his real name, that's stupid.
The cast from Twilight struggles with the same problem.
And as for the Vanessa Hudgens, she also has enough from Gabriella Montez according to her last interview.
The people out there force Zac and the actors to do things, so that they can finally get rid of the old images, that people out there put on them.
His time in the Philippines will be hard for him, because they have the biggest problem to let go.
I can imagine that he will put on a fake smile every time when he will hear HSM or his ex. But he will go through it like he always does.
Any teen star has hard time breaking away from their break through role. If they don’t reference it-fans call them ungrateful, if they reference it,they get accused of being a broken record. They cannot win.
They have no need to slow down. They are all now adults. In every sense of the word. Which means they should be taking an adult roles which they are doing adult things which are not suitable for younger audiences.
I think the problem always has been and always will be the fans. The fans are the people that read the stories,comment on the pics the media publishes. If fans do not do this,these stars could live their lives,and do what they claim to love is act. They could do this in relative privacy and just be seen for promotion.
But no because fans now think that because they go see /buy a persons movie,cd,show-whatever….they have a right to comment on every aspect of their lives from who they date.to what they do when they are not working to who they hang out with.
You do not know these people,you know what you read/see on tv or the internet.what they say is not a reflection of them as person it is what is needed for their movie to be a success. You do not know these people you know what they want you to see.

Sorry, but most of his fan base is from HSM. I am tired of whining about it as though he can’t get roles in movies because if it! If it werent for HSM where would he be today? It is time he just needs to shut up about it and his struggle… Its exhausting! Every single star has a break out role … Enough already!

Blah blah blah, he’s trying too hard to be liked. Guys do not like guys that are desperate to be liked. Shake things up? Sorry, but I don’t think guys pay that much attention to whether you shake things up or not. You want guys to like you? Do an awesome action movie and be cool. Enjoy the ladies and stop trying so hard to impress.

This is just Zac being Zac. He has always been self-critical. He has always competed with himself, trying to do better. He will never win this game, so we just have to get used to it.
