JJ: Frankenweenie looks like it’s going to be such a great movie! What’s it about?
CT: Frankenweenie is about a boy named Victor who loves his dog so much that when his dog dies, he figures out how to bring him back to life.
JJ: Sounds fun! Can you tell us about your character?
CT: Victor is a quiet sort of shy kid. His best friend is his dog Sparky. He loves making movies and he loves science.
JJ: Do you have a favorite scene in the flick?
CT: My favorite scene is at the Dutch Day Fair, when after all the other pets have been brought back to life, it is like a crazy old monster disaster movie. I also love the scene when Victor brings Sparky back to life.
JJ: Was it fun working on an animated film?
CT: It was a lot of fun, especially because I didn’t have to go through wardrobe and hair and make up and stuff. I showed up in my pajamas a few times.
JJ: Nice. What’s your favorite Tim Burton movie?
CT: I like all of his movies that I have seen. When I was little I was obsessed with Nightmare Before Christmas, and PeeWee’s Big Adventure. I also love Sleepy Hollow, Beetlejuice, and Corpse Bride. I guess I can’t really pick just one.
JJ: Seeing how Halloween is around the corner, have you picked out your costume yet?
CT: I haven’t, but Halloween is a really big deal in our family and I always have really good homemade costumes, so it will be something good!
JJ: You’ve worked alongside some really big stars in your career so far. Do you still stay in touch with Zac Efron?
CT: (Laughs) We kept in touch for a while, but I guess it’s been a while since we talked. It would be really fun to see him again though.
JJ: Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?
CT: When I finished recording Frankenweenie, they gave me one of the actual Victor puppets that was used in the movie… it was best wrap gift ever.
