Hunter Hayes shows off his award in the press room at the 2012 CMA Awards held at the Bridgestone Arena on Thursday night (November 1) in Nashville, Tenn.

The 21-year-old musician took home New Artist of the Year at the event.

“Guys, I cannot believe this… I’m like speechless. Thank you thank you thank you! All the love going out to you all tonight!!!” Hunter tweeted.

Earlier in the week, Hunter was also honored at the 2012 BMI Country Awards.

“Got my first BMI award tonight! Thank you guys for helping make this happen! Such a good night!” he wrote.
