Face To Watch Out For: Gracie Gold!
Meet Gracie Gold!
The 17-year-old figure skater (who made her debut on JJJ with Aly Raisman and Jordyn Wieber) is a 2014 Winter Olympic Games hopeful.
Gracie is hoping to take one of the two available slots for the world championships in March during her next event, the 2013 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
“Before, if I did a clean program, it didn’t matter if I connected with the audience or thought about where the judges would be,” Gracie recently shared in an interview with ESPN. “If I landed my jumps, that was my job. This year, I’m putting emphasis on making sure every detail is fixed.”
JJJ Fun Fact: A fraternal twin, Gracie is also one of the only skaters to master a Rippon Lutz during a program. Named after Adam Rippon, the lutz is a triple jump with both arms lifted above the head.
