Gracie Gold leans in to coach Alex Ouriashev after hearing her score during the 2013 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships held at CenturyLink Center on Saturday night (January 26) in Omaha, Neb.
The 17-year-old skating sensation placed an overall second at the competition with a total of 186.84 points, just two points shy of the title which went to reigning champ Ashley Wagner.
“Bawling my eyes out…seriously @GraceEGold I’ve never been more proud of you in my life!!!!! I knew you could do it!!!!! #omaha13″ Gracie‘s twin sis, Carly, tweeted after the program.
“This is my first U.S. Championships and it was horrifying at the beginning. But now it’s been amazing,” Gracie told to press (via Anchorage Daily News). “I’m so proud of myself that I was able to come back after that very, very rough short program and to put out that long program that’s the best I’ve ever done.”
Congrats, Gracie! 40+ pics inside…
