The day before, the 17-year-old actor congratulated his good friend Ariel Winter on Modern Family’s SAG Award win and wished her a happy birthday.

“Ariel congrats on yet another amazing accomplishment!” he tweeted. “You are one of my closest friends and that all I can ask for. Happy almost birthday btw :)”
