Daren Kagasoff Joins 'Delirium'

Daren Kagasoff is headed to Fox’s Delirium, THR reports.

The 25-year-old former Secret Life of the American Teenager star will play Alex, the object of Lena’s (Emma Roberts) affections. He’s a uniformed police officer who on the surface appears tough, smug and a rigid enforcer of the government’s rules. Underneath, he’s a man with a secret agenda: he’s a member of an anti-government group led by Lawrence Tack, one that is infiltrating the most oppressive elements of society while hiding the fact that he still has a mind of his own.

Gregg Sulkin recently signed on for the role of Julian Fineman.

Delirium, based on the book by Lauren Olivier, is set in world where love is deemed illegal and is able to be eradicated with a special procedure. But with 95 days to go until her scheduled treatment, defiant teen Lena Holoway does the unthinkable and falls in love.

I couldn’t imagine him as Alex while reading Delirium but I love him so I think he would be Awesome…
I’m more worried about Emma Roberts as Delirium is an emotional turmoil and I have not seen Emma as an emotional person in movies or in real life.

Daren is wrong for the part of Alex. I don’t think anyone really is right for Alex, I would have found a fault in most actors. But Daren is really wrong. So is Emma Roberts. The only good casting choice in this show is Gregg Sulkin as Julian. It’s a shame because I love the book series and was excited for this show. I can imagine Brenton Thwaites as Alex and Emma Watson or Malese Jow as Lena. And anyone but Jeanine Mason as Hana. Claire Holt, Amber Heard, Gabriella Wilde or Sasha Pieterse would be much better for the roles. I think everyone wishes they had the power over casting :(
