The 19-year-old Jessie actress chatted to the glossy about her music, giving back and acting. Check it:

On the Hollywood scene: “Hollywood is like high school. There are always going to be people who hate you and people who like you. When you’re a teen, [that’s tough] because you’re hyper-aware of what other people are gonna say and think. But neither defines who you are as a person or how successful you are unless you let them.”

On her passion for music: “Music is the hugest part of my life outside of acting. It would be fake to pretend it isn’t. And I think it’s time to be showing people.”

On her recent trip to India: “It’s something I’ve been interested in since I was 8 years old. It’s [giving back] the most fulfilling thing in the universe.”
