Willa Holland is hitting the big screen in Tiger Eyes this weekend.
The film, and first Judy Blume book to get the movie treatment follows Davey, who sets out on a journey from heartbreak and confusion to transformation as she discovers love and life after tragedy. Check out what 21-year-old actress shared with Teen Vogue about the film:
On playing Tiger in the film: “I was really quite honored to be the first person to play one of her characters on-screen–especially one of her biggest and most notable ones. You can’t be a ’90s baby without reading one of Judy Blume’s books. It was fun, and a whole new experience for me.”
On her own high school experience: “In all honesty, I only went to high school for about six weeks, partly because I got a job and also because I just didn’t get along with high school too well. I got bullied, and just didn’t have a good school experience throughout. At school no one believed I was an actress at first—that was the funny part. They just thought I was a total liar. I proved them all wrong, right?”
On Arrow: “That’s the big thing that’s going on right now. We’re on hiatus, but I’m not really thinking about anything other than season two. They like to keep us as in the dark as they like to keep the fans, but I do know it’s going to be a big extravaganza!”
Tiger Eyes is screening in select theaters, Video On Demand, and iTunes TODAY.
