The 18-year-old actor chatted with the mag about his role in The Bling Ring, feeling like an outcast in high school, and fame. Check it:
On his flick The Bling Ring: “If I root for these kids then I feel bad. But it’s kinda like a guilty pleasure. If I root for the cops, then its like, well then I’m rooting for Paris Hilton. The real light and real truth here is how strong all this pop-culture obsession stuff really is. Sofia [Coppola] did a good job. She doesn’t force an opinion on you. You’re kind of just left in your seat, not knowing what to think. But only after she jolts you around like a roller coaster.”
On feeling like an outcast in high school: “When I was in elementary school. I felt a lot like Marc, kind of the outcast, and didn’t have many friends. I guess I pulled out that insecurity and wanting for acceptance in this role.”
