Shailene Woodley Fought For 'Fault In Our Stars' Role

Shailene Woodley wears Vibram‘s famed Five Finger Shoes while arriving at LAX airport in Los Angeles on Saturday night (July 27).

The 21-year-old actress recently chatted with MTV about her next role as Hazel in The Fault in Our Stars and how she fought for the role.

“Oh my god. Oh, god, it’s so good. It’s so good,” Shailene shared. I read the script a year ago and basically said no matter what I have to do, I will do anything to be in this movie, even if I audition for Hazel and they’re like, ‘No, you’re not her,’ I just really want to be an extra because I’m so passionate about it.”

She continued, “So I read the book and fought really, really hard for it. And, finally, when they cast the director [John Green], I auditioned for him, and I guess he liked what I did because I got it.”
