JustJaredJr.com Interview – Cameron Ocasio
JJJ: Hi Cameron! So tell us: what made you want to be an actor?
Cameron Ocasio: I was approached through IMTA to take classes in modeling/acting. I decided to do this and during the annual competition in New York. I did very well and was approached by a manager to represent me.
JJJ: How did you land the role on Sam & Cat? What was your audition process like?
CO: After sending in my audition through my manager, I was invited to audition in front of (producer) Dan Schneider. I had to audition several times with different scripts, but ultimately landed my dream job.
JJJ: Do you and Dice have anything in common or are you very different from one another?
CO: We do dress alike and I believe I’m a cool kid, but I am shy.
JJJ: Tell us about your favorite on-set moment so far?
CO: I love when animals are on set for a particular episode because I am an animal lover.
JJJ: Cool! What’s it like working with Jennette and Ariana?
CO: They are great to work with and I have so much fun with them. They are like sisters to me.
JJJ: You’ve had some fun guest stars so far. If you could have anyone guest star on the show, who would it be and why?
CO: Jim Carrey would be my choice since he is very funny.
JJJ: What do you like to do on your days off?
CO: I like spending time with my family and friends, and also playing video games.
JJJ: Have you had any funny or strange fan encounters? What are fans usually like when you meet them?
CO: I was recently in Hershey Park and was encountered by a group of fans when getting off the rides. The fans are great and we all took pictures. They love the show and my character as Dice and they want to know what its like working with Jennette and Ariana.
JJJ: As a young actor, what’s the best advice you ever got about being in this industry?
CO: I would say, never give up and enjoy what you do while it lasts.
