Miley Cyrus braves the rain and thunder and heads to a studio on Thursday afternoon (August 22) in New York City.

The 20-year-old singer, wearing a “Ain’t Nothing But a G Thang” tank, is rehearsing for this weekend’s 2013 MTV VMAs.

“[Being] on the cover of Maxim and having short hair, I feel like I’m speaking on behalf of girls everywhere, breaking this stereotype,” Miley recently told the E! Fashion Police (via the Huffington Post).
