The young singer/songwriter performed for 18 lucky fans, and also helped make handmade birthday cards to send to teens experiencing homelessness in shelters throughout the United States.
JJJ sat down with Ryan to get the scoop on his upcoming self-titled EP, due out Oct. 8. Be sure to pre-order it now!
He told us exclusively that his full-length album should be ready by December – he already has a title in mind! – and will most likely drop in early Spring.
“There’s a lot of songs about relationships, but I’ve been really trying to think outside the box and not do as many love songs,” Ryan said. “As a writer, I’ve grown so much over this last year. Every where I go now, a line pops in my head. I’ve realized every day life will throw an idea at me, but it’s about me catching that idea.”
Ryan recently got back from London where he recorded at least seven new songs. “I was very involved in the writing and the whole process,” he told us. “I was also in there while it was being produced. [Writers/producers Julian Emery and Jim Irvin] really get me. Out of everybody I’ve worked with, they understand me the most and what I want to be. They really let me be creative.”
He is set to hit the road for his first-ever headlining tour, which kicks off right after Thanksgiving.
“I toured this summer and I felt like I wanted to get right back out,” Ryan said. “Touring is an addiction, I’m not going to lie. It’s an addiction. You put yourself out there, go to all these cities, and once you get back, all you want to do is get back out there.”
