Nina Dobrev: Ian Somerhalder Says 'Art Imitates Life' on 'Vampire Diaries'

Nina Dobrev puts her personal items into containers as she makes her way through security at LAX Airport on Sunday night (October 6) in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old actress’ Vampire Diaries co-star and ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder recently opened up their characters’ relationship on the show.

“Things change, it’s life and…the parallels of how art imitates life this season are pretty staggering,” Ian told ET Online. “Especially when you have a team of writers who know you so well. I’m starting to see my life surface in the art and I’m starting to see the art surfacing in my life. It’s a very interesting dichotomy actors live but they’re supposed to be intertwined. Art should imitate life and life should imitate art.”

The night before, Nina was spotted hanging out with her pals Julianne Hough and Lily Collins at Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios.
