JustJaredJr.com Interview – Chloe Bridges

JustJaredJr: We got a glimpse at a nice side of Donna last season. Will we see more of that this year?

Chloe Bridges: What I like is that she still has that balance. Like, 40 percent of my scenes I’m being nice and 60 percent I’m being my traditional sassy self, which is very fun for me. But I also don’t want people to hate me (laughs). So it’s nice to be nice sometimes too. And definitely with Walt, she has a very sweet relationship and they are very loyal to each other. But also, she also has a relationship with Dorrit. She’s like this twisted mentor to her, which is kind of cool.

JJJ: What can you tell us about Donna’s relationship to Samantha (Lindsey Gort)?

CB: We’re cousins. They are on good terms. They aren’t super close, at least not yet. It was just kind of a fluke thing. I went to Manhattan to hang out at my cousin’s bar and my friends came with me because now I’m part of the crew. We don’t have a lot of scenes where we interact, but obviously we know each other very well because we’re family.

JJJ: So Donna is now part of the group?

CB: Yeah, which is cool. She’s definitely branching out and talking to more people. And I have more scenes with more people, which is nice!

JJJ: And is she still going after Sebastian (Austin Butler) or is she over that?

CB: Their terms are fine. She’s not going after him anymore. She still kind of makes fun of him, torments him, whatever you want to call it. It’s a friendly back and forth.

JustJaredJr.com Interview – Stefania Owen

JustJaredJr: What’s going on with Dorrit and Miller when we come back?

SO: Dorrit is a very strong character and if something goes off the rails a little but, it’s over. She’s her own person and she doesn’t want anyone to control her life, like her dad. She hates when her dad controls her life. So if you can think about that, that’s what happens to Miller. Miller has to fly away.

JJJ: Donna and Dorrit struck up an interesting friendship last season. Will we see more of that?

SO: I think that it’s really great because when the writers got Dorrit and Donna together, it was like they were very similar. They were different because Donna has her skimpy clothes and she’s more bitchy. But when they came together, they connected. They knew what they were talking about. They would talk about boys. It was a connection that no one has on the show, which is really great. It was really fun acting with Chloe. We have a great time. And those diner scenes are just so much fun. There are some more scenes with Donna and Dorrit in season two.

JJJ: What’s the relationship between Dorrit and her sister Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb) this season in wake of all her boyfriend/BFF problems?

SO: They do still fight a little bit, but you also see some sisterly bonding and how they can be on the same side. So Dorrit is supportive in some ways, but she still has to keep Carrie in her place. That’s really fun to play with.

JJJ: And as for their dad, how’s Dorrit going to deal with him dating?

SO: With Dorrit, it doesn’t really matter what’s going on as long as she’s being left alone and she can do whatever she wants, she’s OK. It doesn’t matter who her dad dates or what Carrie is doing. Just as long as she has her rock music, she can go out, she’s fine. She’s a free spirit and that’s what I love.
