Jeremy Abbott shows off his bronze medal at the 2013 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating NHK Trophy held at Yoyogi National Gymnasium on Sunday night (November 10) in Tokyo, Japan.
The 28-year-old skater posted a sweet message after skating his final Grand Prix event and placing third ahead of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
“Bittersweet moment leaving Yoyogi. So proud to be on the podium, but so sad to see my final Grand Prix event, as a competitor, come and go. This sport and the family I’ve created along the way have meant everything to me, and I will greatly miss all that comes with being a part of this prestigious series of competitions,” Jeremy wrote.
He added, “Thank you all for your continued love and support. I could not have had these 7 amazing Grand Prix seasons without you all!!!! <3 #ISU #NHK2013 #FigureSkating."
After the Olympics, Jeremy will be hanging up his competitive ice skates.
