Grant Gustin: 'The Flash' Gets Pilot, Will Still Be in 'Arrow'

JJJ was super excited to hear about The Flash backdoor pilot from Arrow earlier this year, but some of it’s plans have been changed.

Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin, will still debut in episodes eight and nine of Arrow, but the Flash-heavy episode 20 isn’t going ahead as planned (via Deadline).

Instead, a standalone pilot will be shot for the spinoff.

In the shows, Barry Allen is a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fan boy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante.
