'Catching Fire' Set to Beat 'Harry Potter' Holiday Box Office Record

The holiday numbers are coming in and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is still burning up the box office!

While the film’s gross income did take a dip for the holiday, the sequel still took in an estimated $14 million.

According to Deadline, the film is poised to take in a total of $103 million over the five day holiday weekend which would knock out the previous record of $82 million made by 2001′s Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone.

Disney’s Frozen followed up with $10.8 million on Thursday and the could reach an estimated total of $90 million by the end of the weekend.

I love The Hunger Games trilogy but Harry Potter is legendary.

Well, the Hunger Games is on its way to being legendary and a classic, let me tell you that. It’s a whole lot more relevant to today’s society than HP.
