Jeremy Abbott Sets National Record at U.S. Figure Skating Championships; Takes 1st After Short Program
Jeremy Abbott reacts in the box after receiving his scores for his short program during the 2014 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships held at TD Garden on Friday night (January 10) in Boston, Mass.
The 28-year-old skater, in his final season, took the top spot with 99.86 points, setting a national record.
“That was fun. That was just fun,” Jeremy shared with press afterwards.
He added, “After the 2012 season, we kind of revamped everything…putting all the cogs in place and making sure all the mechanisms around me were working properly and they were all working in sync. When things didn’t work at competition, I believed in what we had done, and I just kept plugging at it and it paid off tonight.”
Can’t wait for the free skate on Sunday! 20+ pics inside…
