Selena Gomez to 'Seventeen': I Might Scare Some Guys Away

Selena Gomez goes for girl power on the March 2014 cover of Seventeen magazine!

The 21-year-old actress/singer opened up to the glossy about guys, her “feud” with Lorde, her fans, and more. Check it:

On feeling powerful: “This year is when I really started feeling powerful. I had always been the underdog secretly. I was on Disney when it was Miley [Cyrus], the Jonas Brothers, and Demi [Lovato]. I questioned the way I looked, acted, sang, and wrote. Then I turned 20, went through a really bad breakup, and realized I needed to have ‘Come & Get It’ be amazing. I wanted it all to be me. I’m glad it’s taken me this long to get where I am because now I am ready for it.”

On her fans: “I don’t feel like I can do enough for my fans. I work a lot, I work hard, and I get tired. But when you walk onstage and see these people who wait hours outside just to see you, it’s the greatest thing in the world.”

On Lorde: “I recently did an interview and they asked me who I thought was up-and-coming and making a difference. I said, ‘She doesn’t like me, but Lorde.’ I’m going to support her whether she likes me or not because I think she’s doing great things. Some day I will see her and we’ll be cool.”

On never changing for a guy: “I actually talked to Katy Perry about guys who are intimidated by strong girls. I haven’t found someone yet who could understand my lifestyle, support it, love me through it, and not be threatened by it. It’s hard. I do think I might scare some guys, because I’m like, ‘I want to change the world! I have dreams! What do you want to do?’ But I only know how to be me.”

underdog? oh sweet summer child …
Come and get it wasn’t even her song she just performed it. It literally had no relation to her personally except her voice. lorde said she liked selena she just didnt like the type of message her song come and get it was producing which is aimed at quite a young audience if you look at her core fanbase. Its interesting that she will support lorde no matter what yet not long ago she dropped her song off her tour when lorde made her comments so clearly the comment did affect her support for her. As soon as i think shes starting to expand she goes straight back onto these teen mags. Avoid them at all costs – it stunts your growth to larger audiences.

A guy can’t understand you if you keep going back with douche bag beeber. Stop being a little slut and grow up.
