JustJaredJr.com Interview – Cody Simpson
JustJaredJr.com: So do you have something special planned for you and Gigi?
Cody Simpson: For us, it’s a serious relationship, so I want to plan something really special. I’m still figuring out what I’m going to do.
JJJ: Any pressure?
CS: No, no pressure (laughs). It’s good fun. I’ll probably go to New York and try to do something romantic. Maybe write her a little song and play it for her, serenade her. That’s my favorite thing to do is write songs.
JJJ: Who gives you the best advice when it comes to relationships?
CS: Definitely from my dad, just watching him be romantic with my mom. That’s where I learned. The most important thing to me is just being a gentleman, romantic, and chivalrous.
JJJ: It must be tough having a relationship in the public eye.
CS: It took me a while to get used to the whole being public thing, but I don’t mind it. I do my best as far as long distance. That’s something that’s kind of new to me, but it doesn’t really bother me. I’m not going to be immature and tweet everything about my life, but it someone takes a photo, then…
JJJ: Right. Is it nice having some time off from touring?
CS: To be honest, I really miss it when I’m not touring. One of my favorite things to do is travel and tour, and I really miss it when I’m away from it. At the same time, it’s nice to have some time at home.
JJJ: And when can we expect your new album?
CS: I’ll hopefully get it out before the end of the summer.
