Meryl Davis & Charlie White Stop By 'Ellen' Ahead of DWTS Premiere

Meryl Davis and Charlie White are gifted with some blue dancing shoes (with skates on the bottom) during the appearance on Ellen, airing Monday, March 17th.

The Olympic ice dance champs sat down to chat about mingling at Oscar parties and taking on Dancing With The Stars, just weeks after winning gold.

Charlie shared, “There were so many famous people as you know, I mean, just all the most famous people you can imagine, so we’re trying to play it cool, you know. It’s like we don’t want to take any pictures, but then I saw Bill Murray and I was like ya I’ve got to take a picture with Bill Murray. So you know, we’re holding our medals and you know trying to like make ourselves look important and he’s like, oh ‘I feel like I should be holding something’, so he grabs Meryl‘s clutch and is like…And it’s just like of course Bill Murray, you know. He’s genius and it was awesome to be there.

Meryl added about her own brush with celebrities at the bash: “I was washing my hands in the bathroom and I looked up and Selena Gomez was standing on my right and Zooey Deschanel was standing on my left and they’re just having a conversation and I was like hmm ya that’s cool.”

“I think we’re both scared of each other if you will, but in a very, you know, encouraging way,” Charlie added about their new DWTS experience and competing against one another. “I don’t know how else to put that. I mean, we know each other so well. We know how hard the other person works. We know that, you know, I know that she’s a great dancer and she has a great partner in Max and I’m very fortunate to have Sharna and we’re gonna have a lot of fun cause it’s a different experience than the Olympics.”
