Bridgit Mendler joins a group of kids for Save the Children’s #BabySitIn Campaign event held during the 2014 Advocacy Summit on Tuesday afternoon (April 8) in Washington, D.C.
Running from Mother’s Day through Father’s Day, the teen volunteer campaign aims to give parents a break and babies a boost to a healthy start in life.
“I am so excited to launch the #BabySitIn campaign with Save the Children, especially because it empowers kids to change the world by helping other kids,” Bridgit, 21, shared at the summit. “It’s an easy way for kids to help little ones everywhere get a healthy start and an opportunity to learn just by doing something they do most weekends anyway.”
Here is how a #BabySitIn works: a teen volunteers his/her babysitting time to a family; the family gives a donation to Save the Children in the babysitter’s name; and Save the Children uses that donation to help the world’s babies and toddlers. Then, everyone spreads the word through social media. Head to SaveTheChildren.org to get involved!
Bridgit also shared a ton of images on her Instagram about her recent visit to El Quiché, Guatemala last month.
