'Allegiant' Books 'Maze Runner' Screenwriter to Adapt For Big Screen

While Shailene Woodley and Theo James are still shooting Insurgent in Atlanta, Summit Entertainment has already recruited screenwriter Noah Oppenheim to pen the adaption of Allegiant.

Noah, who also penned the script for The Maze Runner, is attached to just the first part of Allegiant, which is being split into two films, according to THR.

In the dystopian franchise written by Veronica Roth, people are divided into groups by certain values. Allegiant is expected to debut in theaters on March 18th, 2016 and Part 2 will hit on March 24th, 2017.

Allegiant sees Tris and Four discovering that the world they grew up in may all be a lie, and they’ll have to make hard choices that could change their lives forever.
