'American Idol' Season 7 Alum Michael Johns Dies at 35

Michael Johns, a contestant on the seventh season of American Idol, has passed away at the age of 35, according to THR.

The singer-songwriter reportedly died from a blood clot in his ankle while sleeping on Friday (August 1).

In case you weren’t aware, Michael placed eighth on American Idol in 2007.

After appearing on American Idol, Michael released an album Hold Back My Heart in 2009 and an EP Love and Sex, which included three songs, in 2012.

Michael is survived by his wife Stacey Vuduris, who he married in 2007.

He was extremely talented, a genuinely nice human being and so handsome.
Loved him on Idol and this news breaks my heart.
