Figure Skater Ashley Wagner Sets Sights On Pyeongchang Olympics 2018

Ashley Wagner placed sixth overall at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics earlier this year and she’s already looking ahead — to the 2018 games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

“I think Pyeongchang is totally do-able. I’m not old. I’m experienced,” the 23-year-old skater told Ice Network about her chances.

Ashley added, “I can still go and fight and show those babies I can still show them a thing or two. I’m not a pretty princess skater. People want to watch a woman on the ice, someone who is mature and confident.”

For the current competition season, Ashley teamed up with BFF and fellow skater/choreographer Adam Rippon for her Spartacus short program.

“We almost killed each other. We were like an old married couple that needed marriage counseling,” Ashley said. That was when choreographer Cindy Stuart came in as the mediator and saved the program and their friendship.

Adam shared, “I called Cindy and told her it was a nightmare, and she came in and proved to be someone Ashley and I needed. It was important that Ashley had the best program she could have.”

Can’t wait to see Ashley‘s programs this year!
