OlderSam Smith Hits BBC Radio After GQ Men of the Year Awards 2014

Just the night before, the 22-year-old musician was spotted at the 2014 GQ Men Of The Year Awards held at The Royal Opera House, where he presented New Order with the Inspiration Award.

“I was worried. I didn’t give the public enough credit,” Sam recently shared about coming out as gay just when his debut album hit shelves. “We were really panicky about it, but then as soon as we did it, I am just so proud of how people haven’t reacted.”
He continued, “People really just don’t give a s***. The success in America is still happening even though I’ve talked about it. I feel like it’s a step forward – we’re in uncharted territory at the moment where you say it before an album and it’s all natural and okay. It’s great.”
