The 22-year-old actor/singer opened up to the glossy about his hygiene, his solo career, and more. Check it:
On losing his wholesome image: Yeah I think it had to happen naturally for me over time. Over the course of years it probably developed, and I thought I had to be okay with who I was and what I wanted to show to the world, and thoughts and ideas and opinions change over time. Back in the days with my brothers I think I put more pressure on myself than I should have. I wasn’t enjoying the moments as much as I could’ve. So this time around, at the core I’ve told myself to enjoy the ride and have fun with it, and don’t stress over the little things.
On how he stays grounded: It’s tough to say. I think it’s a combination of a few things; the first being that I always felt really fortunate being in the position I was in. I was still growing as an artist as I was getting popularity and success so I took it more as, you know, I’m really lucky to be here and I want to learn as much as possible – and just be really grateful for it. And I did it with my family and had that sort of care and support throughout the whole process. But there are moments when you’re like, “I’m definitely going to lose my mind,” that it’s all too much.
On his grooming habits: It’s funny, I never even really thought about it; that that would be an issue. I think that I’ve never even tried to like wax or shave my chest hair or anywhere else. I just think, “I’m a man, I don’t really need to!” That’s the beautiful part about being a man! It’s a whole lot of trouble to do all that! But actually when we were doing some of the Kingdom shoots in our fight-wear – which is just shorts and that’s it – one of my friends on set who’s this awesome lesbian chick was like, “You know what I really dig? I really dig that you don’t shave or wax – keep that up!” And I was like, okay, if that’s coming from her then I’m all good to go!
