Charli XCX Explains Her 'Sucker' Album Title

Charli XCX takes a peach for a snack during an interview at the 2014 American Music Awards Radio Row held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Friday afternoon (November 21) in Los Angeles.

The 22-year-old singer was joined at the event by Colbie Caillat and band Magic!

“I think firstly, the name is like a ‘told you so’ to all the people who doubted me and thought I was a bad songwriter,” Charli recently dished about her upcoming album’s title, Sucker.

She added, “It’s also my cynical view on some of the people in the music industry and how they’re so weird and caught up in such bizarre, tiny things. I guess it’s also a comment on me, because even though I feel like I’m critiquing the pop circus, I’m also very aware that I’m part of that now. So, three meanings, one title.”
