Gracie Gold Injured; Withdraws From Grand Prix Finals

Sending all our get well wishes to Gracie Gold!

The 19-year-old figure skater, who just took gold at the NHK Trophy in Japan late last month, has had to withdraw from the upcoming Grand Prix finals due to an injury – a stress fracture in her left foot, US Figure Skating reports.

“Obviously, I am very disappointed that I have to withdraw from the Grand Prix Final,” Gracie shared in a statement. “I’m proud that I qualified for the event and I was so excited to visit Barcelona. The bigger picture is that I need to recover as quickly as possible. My ultimate goals for this year are to win another U.S. title and make the podium at Worlds. These are the factors that my team and I used to make this very difficult decision.”

Other Team USA members heading to Barcelona next weekend are Ashley Wagner and ice dancers Madison Chock and Evan Bates and Maia and Alex Shibutani.
