5 Seconds of Summer Felt Like They Were Betraying Stranded Member Michael Clifford

5 Seconds of Summer stop to take fan selfies while arriving at BBC Radio 1 studios on Tuesday morning (December 9) in London, England.

The guys – Ashton Irwin, Luke Hemmings, and Calum Hood – were still missing guitarist Michael Clifford after he lost his passport and couldn’t travel.

Luke was surprised he lost it, telling the station, “because our tour manager holds our passports and will give it to us before the flight. Then we’ll have it for maybe an hour and then he’ll take it back off us. In that time he’s lost it.”

Meanwhile, Ashton was bummed not having Michael at the 2014 Jingle Bell Ball performance over the weekend.

“I hated him not being there it was the worst. It’s just so wrong when you’re in a band and a guy’s not there,” he said. “It’s almost like you’re betraying him. We were on stage as a three piece and it just wasn’t awesome at all.”
