The 27-year-old actor opened up about his girlfriend, working with JLo on Boy Next Door and more. Check it:
On finally meeting his girlfriend, Melanie Iglesias, face to face: “We had been talking on Skype for three or four months while I was filming [Step Up] in Vancouver. That’s a long freaking time to be doing that Internet type deal. So, after three or four months of talking through the computer, we finally got to see each other face-to-face. We felt like we had known each other our whole lives, which is kind of amazing. I never would have thought that would happen.”
On working with Jennifer: “I mean, she didn’t lose any focus at any point. She was doing American Idol, getting ready for the AMAs, getting her book ready, and doing our film while getting another film ready. So, just seeing her, in her element, it made realize that’s the goal. The goal is to still have that spark and that want to just continue growing and keep things moving forward.”
On embracing failure: “Hey, I invite all adversity. Anything coming against me only makes me stronger, so if I don’t make it this time, I’m not going to fuss about it. I’m not going to get all angry or upset or anything like that people would think. There’s a lesson to be learned at that point — what didn’t I do right or what do I need to work on and what do I need to show the audience more of. I’m just going to keep on growing. Eventually, you will be seeing me, because I will be working my ass off!”
