Vanessa Hudgens & Julianne Hough Joins Fox's 'Grease' as Rizzo & Sandy!

Grease is the word!

Vanessa Hudgens and Julianne Hough have been announced as the first names to be cast for Fox’s upcoming Grease!

Julianne, 26, will play Sandy, played by Olivia Newton-John in the movie and Vanessa, also 26, will take on the role of Rizzo, played by Stockard Channing.

Grease is one of the movies that made me want to be an entertainer, and I have literally been waiting my whole life to play Sandy,” Julianne shared in a statement. “My siblings and I watched it and played it out over and over when we were kids. This is my dream role and performing it live on television will be one of the most thrilling opportunities I’ve had in my career so far.”

Vanessa added, “Being Rizzo is something I’ve never imagined, and I love that because it will be a new challenge. She is such an iconic character that continues to transcend generations. I cannot wait to bring her to life on live television. I’m going to be a Pink Lady!”

Grease is expected to premiere @7PM ET/PT on Sunday, January 31, 2016.

Zac would make a great Danny, but don’t know if he and Vanessa would be willing to work together. I think if they were serious actors, they wouldn’t let personal problems interfere with their career. I still think he should do it, and he would be the best choice out of the ones they listed. Zac said he’d be open to doing it, but I don’t know if he knew Vanessa was casted. Either way, I still think he would do a great job. :)

I don’t know… I can’ picture Vanessa as Rizzo. Maybe she cold pull off the acting portion, but I’m not sure her singing voice would fit the part, it’s rather high, and previous Rizzos have had deeper voices and I think that gives it a more “mean” and more rebellious tone to it.
