Holly Taylor Teases Paige's Journey This Season on 'The Americans' (JJJ Interview)

We’ve got the scoop on the third season of The Americans from star Holly Taylor!

The 17-year-old talented actress stars in the FX hit as Paige, the daughter of two KGB spies (played by Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys) posing as Americans in suburban Washington D.C. shortly after Ronald Reagan is elected President.

Holly gave us some insight into Paige’s journey this season, now that the Center wants to recruit her! Check it:

The Americans airs on Wednesday nights @ 10PM on FX!

JustJaredJr.com: We’ve really seen Paige grow up a lot over these few seasons and now the Center wants to recruit her. What do you think are her strengths and weaknesses, when it comes to possibly being a spy?

Holly Taylor: Some of her strengths are how passionate and dedicated she is. I think that, like Elizabeth, once she is committed to something she gives it her all. Also she’s strong and independent and I don’t think she would be manipulated easily in a tricky-spy situation or feel the need to rely on anyone. Also, we’ve seen her be really observant and intelligent so she would be able to pick up clues and be aware of her surroundings. As for weaknesses, I would say her curiosity might get in the way a little. Throughout season 2 especially, Paige has proved how curious she is and how she doesn’t stop until she gets answers. This could be a good quality, but could also get her into trouble.

JJJ: Paige has long suspected her parents of many things. What can you tease about her reaction to the news? Do you think she would be resistant to the idea or willingly accept this as her fate?

HT: Well I can’t really tease anything about a reaction because I’m probably not allowed to tell if she receives any news or not!…sneaky! But I do think that if she did find out about her parents, she wouldn’t willingly accept it at first, but I think once she processes it that she would eventually want to know more and be involved.

JJJ: How does this whole thing affect Elizabeth and Philip’s relationship?

HT: The decision to include Paige or not creates a lot of tension between Philip and Elizabeth because they both believe that they are doing what’s best for their family.

JJJ: We know things didn’t end well for Jared and his parents. Do you think this could this lead Paige down a similarly dangerous path?

HT: I don’t think Paige would ever be able to kill her family like Jared did. The love that Paige has for her parents and little brother would overcome any inclination that she would have to hurt them. This would make her an extremely loyal spy!

JJJ: If she does become a spy, would you be excited to wear disguises and possibly do more stunts, and things like that?

HT: Of course! I’ve been waiting since the pilot to put on a funky wig and beat someone up!

JJJ: What’s been your favorite memory from filming the show so far – on and off set?

HT: My favorite memory on set, was shooting the scene where Philip (Matthew Rhys) ripped up the bible in my face and made me cry. It was amazing to work with Matthew and Keri in that scene and I learned a lot from being a part of it. They’re both really talented. My favorite memory off set, was playing football with the crew in between takes, once the weather got warmer!

JJJ: Going into season 3, what are you most excited for fans to see?

HT: I’m most excited for fans to see how Paige is maturing, from her clothes to her personality. Also, my new hairstyle! No more front bangs! Another thing I’m excited for fans to see is how Paige’s relationship with her parents grows and they become closer. And of course, I hope everyone enjoys the crazy disguises, I can’t even wait to see those!
