'Insurgent' Shatters Reality With New IMAX Poster, Stills & Virtual Experience

The new poster actually announced the new virtual reality experience that’s touring the country right now — the Insurgent ‘Shatter Reality’ Virtual Reality experience, which is available across VR platforms including Samsung MilkVR, Android and iOS.

In the experience, which will be available across all platforms and app stores after the weekend, users take the role of Divergent members of society in the film, who are captured by Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet) and are subjected to a series of mental “simulations” to determine the full extent of their divergence — transporting them to fearscapes from a crumbling Chicago skyscraper to a fast-approaching locomotive.

The film has also partnered with IMAX and REGAL Cinemas to distribute INSURGENT Google cardboards in all Regal IMAX Theatres starting Thursday, March 19th. Google Cardboard is an affordable Virtual Reality alternative that allows you to enjoy VR experiences from your smartphone and for TODAY ONLY, movie goers who purchase tickets to Insurgent on Fandango are guaranteed an branded cardboard as a gift with purchase.
