'Supergirl' Series Picked Up for 2015-2016 Season at CBS!

Supergirl is flying into CBS!

The network just announced that the new series, starring Melissa Benoist as the title character, has been picked up by CBS for the 2015-2016 season (first reported by Variety).

SuperGirl centers on Superman’s cousin, who was born on the planet Krypton and escaped amid its destruction years ago. After arriving on Earth, Kara was taken in by a foster family, the Danvers, who taught her to be careful with her extraordinary powers (which she shares with her famous cousin).

The show will also star Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, and David Harewood as Hank Henshaw aka Cyborg Superman.
