Jacob Whitesides Credits His Fans With Helping Him Succeed

Jacob Whitesides is heading out on the road with R5 soon, but before he does, he chatted with NKD mag about just how he got there.

The 17-year-old musician opened up about touring with Fifth Harmony, his fans and a new album. Check it:

On how his fans helped him get where he is: “They [the fans] were tweeting my cover of ‘One Thing’ to Liam Payne, who was online tweeting some covers of their songs, and he actually saw it. He tweeted it and was like ‘Hope you go far, you’re super talented.’ It blew up everything. My Facebook went up 20,000 likes, my YouTube went up. I had half a million views on the cover so, that kind of gave me the incentive to take YouTube seriously and see the power of it.”

On his upcoming album: “We had four weeks to get this EP done, and we had to write everything. We didn’t have any original content. But I really liked how everything turned out, and I’m really excited to get back to Nashville after my vacation. I don’t want to put myself in a crunch like I did last time but hopefully the beginning of next year.”
